New Camp Could House 2,500

Encana has begun work on a camp that could house 2,500 workers – more than twice Spirit River’s population.  The camp, located about 55 km north of Dawson Creek, could start welcoming oil and gas workers in early 2015.

What kind of impact will that have on area communities?  Do you think we should be made more aware of camps opening in our region?  Should communities have plans in place to help meet demands on businesses, infrastructure and health care should a camp be built nearby?
