Cliffs and caves and rock climbers are not sights most people would connect with the Peace Country, but just over the border in the B.C. Peace you can find these things and more at the Rim Rocks, or the windmill ridge, over Dawson Creek. From a distance, the 35 massive wind turbines are the most stand out feature of Bear Mountain. Wind up the gravel road, however, cross a few cattle rattles and park under the whooshing triple blades and you will be about a one minute walk from the edge. This is the edge of the world… it seems you can see most of it spread out before you, as far as the eye can see and down, down below. This is where climbers rappel down the sheer cliff, where picnickers brave the wind to drink in the view, and where explorers never run out of marvelous things to experience. It can’t be the prairies, and yet it is most definitely the prairies spread out below!
