Jean Cameron Kelly Learns to Speak Cree

Jean Cameron Kelly was a school teacher in Peace River a century ago.  Fortunately for us, she wrote detailed recollections of all that she saw and experienced in the Peace Country.  Also in our favour, Peace River Museum has posted a passage of Kelly’s writing.  This piece is about learning to speak Cree (more handily than some supposed!).

Please click this link to read her account.  Enjoy!

If you have a link to something interesting about the Peace Country, please let us know!  Shoot an email to townspirit@hotmail.com or leave a comment on any post.  Thank you!
