You may have seen the Letter to the Editor in the Signal this week outlining ideas for a walking trail in Spirit River or from Spirit River to an out of town destination. There is a real possibility that a project like this could be accomplished, but first there are many things to be discussed.
If you live in the Spirit River area or visit often, what do you think? Would you use a walking trail? Where would you like to walk? How far? Would you prefer to take your bike, jog or run? Is it important to you to be near a road or farther from traffic? Are you looking specifically for a groomed trail for winter exercise?
Below are some maps of Spirit River and the surrounding area, including one with a proposed route for a trail from Spirit River to NARDAM. Click on an image to see it full-sized.
If you have suggestions or if you can foresee any difficulties, it would be great to hear from you. Please leave a comment on Town Spirit or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will also be a trail meeting near the end of February (watch for the date and time to be announced in the Signal). Everyone is welcome to attend and join the discussion. Hope to see you there!
