Missing the Skydivers

Skydivers did not make their expected appearance in the skies over Spirit River this June Jamboree weekend.  We missed those bright canopies raining down to the bottom of the town.  One day of something other than rain raining down would have been nice (especially on fair day!).  If wishes were sunshine…

No actual skydivers yet this year, so while we’re waiting why not reminisce about the past.  A couple of years ago, one particularly interesting person with a wish to jump out of a airplane 10,000 feet up came to Spirit River to do just that.  Kuen Tang wrote about her experience for the Spinal Column, and you can read her article by following this link.  While you’re there, be sure to read her biography as well.  Some people are living proof that we can do anything – and maybe everything!

Kind of inspiring, isn’t it?

If you know someone interesting or if you’re up to something awesome yourself, why not share it with us all through Town Spirit?  Any pictures, information or stories about Spirit River and the entire Peace Country are welcome on this blog.  Please help support this collection of “all things good happening in Spirit River and area”!  It’s easy.  Just leave a comment on any post to say you like what you see, or email townspirit@hotmail.com with ideas, posts or pictures.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to those of you who have already shared in the making of Town Spirit!  It’s better with you 🙂

  1. Good for her! She’s braver than I am. And what a positive attitude!

Whoops, another missing link. Now the link to Kuen Tang’s write up is actually there.
