Once again the Spirit River area is gearing up for an active month. Here’s your chronological list of events (remember, if you want a free advertisement for an event in this area, Town Spirit is ready and willing to post your information here):
As of May 2nd, the Rycroft Farmers Market is open for the season.
May 3: Trauma Drama. 10 am at the Centennial Hall. Don’t drive drunk or distracted!
May 4: Community Garage Sale at Woking Hall, 9am to 4pm.
May 4: 4-H Highway Clean Up. Hooray for 4-H for taking on a dirty job!
May 4: Spring Scurry – Run, Walk and Stroll at Watino Community Hall Site, starting at 10:30 am. Registration fee is $15.
May 5: MattaFest at Dunvegan Park.
May 6: HOJA live at the Spirit River Centennial Hall. Show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available around town; $6 for students, $10 for adults and $30 for families. www.hojaworld.com
May 10: Community Kitchen at the Centennial Hall.
May 12: Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast at Woking Hall from 9am to 1pm.
May 12: Mother’s Day Supper at Eaglesham Hall. 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. $15 at the door.
May 12: Rose’s Greenhouse is open for the season. Green Island, Codesa Colony and Dunvegan Gardens are open as well.
May 21-24: Spring Clean Up
May 24: Jimmy the Janitor Show to raise money for AEDs for Birch Hills County fire trucks. Tickets $35 at the Birch Hills County Office. The show is on at the Eaglesham Centennial Hall.
May 24 & 25: Rycroft Library Yard Sale, in the lot next to the library from 10am to 5pm. Send in your donations early!
