Averybody Got Telephones?

Remember the good old days with AGT (Alberta Government Telephones)?  Well, the name did last for 90 years, from 1906 to 1996.  Here are a couple of local phone bills from the 50s (click to maximize):


Only five calls in one month, for a total of $1.80.  How the world has changed.

  1. Oh to have phone bills like that nowadays! Wouldn’t it be nice? But I guess $1.80 was worth more in those days. You could buy four gallons of gas for that amount then.
