Moose, deer, rabbits, coyotes and foxes: all are coming into town to stretch their legs and enjoy the luxury of plowed paths leading conveniently close to chewy trees and stray morsels of garbage. The winter has been a tough one due to the deep snow, and with more in the forecast, the forest creatures might be a regular sight for the next couple of months.
Last week Rycroft’s resident moose and calf made the front page of The Signal, and Photonymous sent in some great pictures of Spirit River’s deer population hanging out at the old lumber yard. Today Photonymous has some more pictures: moose hitching a ride or just a handout? Either way, they decided to go back to their natural habitat.
