Cartoonist Hails From Fairview

October is Canadian Library Month!  You can get a taste of Steve Notley’s books through the Spirit River library.

It’s ComiCon time, and the Peace Country is not left out of the fun.  We have an indy cartoonist to call our own: Steve Notley, creator of the black and white strip Bob the Angry Flower.

Bob is a flower.  An angry flower.  Things like improper usage of apostrophes stick in Bob’s craw.  He has some off-the wall friends and you never know what sort of situations they’ll get themselves into, or who else might find their way into the comic. Bob and friends have turned up in several magazines and have also been published in seven books (compilations with special features).  You can visit the Bob the Angry Flower archive online.

Steve Notley’s name might be familiar to Peace Country people.  Yes, Steve is the son of Grant Notley, our local MLA in the 70s and 80s, then leader of the NDP from 1968 to 1984.

If you know a local talent, send them Town Spirit’s way!  Please leave a comment on any post or email townspirit@hotmail.com.
