Honk if you love Spirit River…

but only if it’s warm!  The great goose migration has begun.

Spirit River must also say farewell to robins, ducks, tanagers, waxwings, woodpeckers, sapsuckers, crows, red-winged blackbirds, blue jays, and hundreds of other species.

But as cold as it gets during our northern winters, several species of chickadees call Spirit River home year round.  Just like the people of Spirit River, they’re a hardy bunch and content to tough it out because they feel so much at home here.

Are there any birdwatchers in Spirit River who could contribute more interesting information about our local species?  Write it to townspirit@hotmail.com!
